This is another beautiful gemstone and was my Mother’s favourite of all. She had some beautiful emeralds.

Emerald is a rare, brilliant green member of the Beryl family.

It is a powerful stone of love and domestic bliss and can inspire sensitivity and loyalty within yourself and others. The love Emerald attracts is the love of marriage, family and true friendship. It requires an open and honest approach. Just like the stone itself, even the best relationships have fractures and imperfections. If the partnership is true, it will be stronger than these faults, but if it is insincere, it will shatter in the vicinity of wickedness and deceit.

Emerald can be used to open, activate and stimulate the Heart chakra while quieting the emotions. This stone will bring harmony to all systems of your body and will speed all cleansing and purifying processes. Hidden fears and anxieties are released, allowing you to experience spiritual states of awareness. Therefore it is a useful meditation stone. It can be used for magical purposes and rituals using Emerald are most powerful in Spring. It can return curses and hexes back to the sender.

It enhances intuition, dreams, meditation, clairvoyance, bringing the skill of prophecy and foresight, communication and promotes truthfulness. It also encourages kindness, balance, healing, patience, joy, memory and faith. The energies it provides are uplifting and a stimulant for mind, body and spirit. Emerald helps you to recognize abundance in many forms other than monetary and it encourages gratitude. It aids memory and insight making it excellent for past life working. It can eliminate negativity. This is a stone which assists all seeing, opening up the psychic eye as well as the physical eye.

The qualities of intellect and emotion are united enabling us to love all life unconditionally, while at the same time seeing reality clearly. Emerald demonstrates the difference between loving and being in love, the former involving seeing clearly but loving anyway, whilst the latter involves seeing nothing but our own desires and illusions. All things are loveable if we seek beneath the superficial and life on earth is well worth living when we choose to love. Emerald brings domestic bliss and fidelity. It has been linked throughout the ages with honesty and truth.

The rich green of the stone provides the energies of growth, peace and abundance. It provides protection from snakebite and evil spirits and can be used to improve or refresh eyesight. It may be beneficial for heart, liver, kidneys, immune system, and nervous system, removing mental causes of disease and for all general healing.

It works well with heart, solar plexus and third eye chakras.
