Today would have been my mother’s 92st birthday! She and I didn’t always get along very well. My brother was the light of her life always. He could do no wrong whereas I could do no right. But I was closer to my father.
Having had my daughter reject me for the past few years, it has made me think more about my relationship with my mother. Her life wasn’t an easy one either. I have dwelt too long on the wrongs between us and not enough on the things she did do for me.
But today is not about remembering old hurts or resentments. It is time to let them go. Therefore, I light a candle in remembrance for her.

For you Mum- with love
