Tools of Divination – Part 1

There are innumerable methods of divination that people around the world use. I have tried many but most of them didn’t work properly for me.

I currently have several sets of tarot and other cards that I keep for their beauty, including the Rider Waite pack, which is the only one I was ever successful with. The Tarot cards I painted and made myself, thinking that would make them more usable for me, but unfortunately that didn’t work. The Gilded Tarot and Lisa Parker’s Tarot Familiars and Fairies are beautiful packs of cards but I don’t use them for divination.

I occasionally use the Astro Dice for quick answers, but you cannot ask them yes/no questions or specific questions. Your requests have to be more general i.e. ask for guidance of how or what can I expect…..

There are three multi sided dice, one representing the houses, one the planets and one the signs. The astrological houses show the area of action that needs to be taken. The signs identify the ways of functioning and the planets the specific type of action or result.

Basically, the planets tell you what, the houses tell you where and the signs tell you how.

The dice are rolled while thinking about what you want to know and then read according to which House, Planet and Sign show.

The Houses

  1. The First House – Self
  2. The Second House – Resources
  3. The Third House – Closely Related Factors
  4. The Fourth House – Foundations
  5. The Fifth House – Joy
  6. The Sixth House – Work
  7. The Seventh House – Others
  8. The Eighth House – Cycles
  9. The Ninth House – Understanding
  10. The Tenth House – Status
  11. The Eleventh House – Outreach
  12. The Twelfth House – Boundaries

  • Gemini – Be Diversified
  • Cancer – Be Protective

The Planets

  • The Sun – Drive

  • Uranus – Electrify
  • Neptune – Spread Out
  • Pluto – Transcend
  • The Moon’s North Node – Relax
  • The Moon’s South Node – Reconsider

The North and South Nodes of the Moon are not planets but the points of intersection of the orbit of the Moon and the orbit of the Earth. Lunar and Solar Eclipses can only occur close to these nodes. Basically the North Node is considered a favourable influence and the South Node unfavourable.

The Moon corresponds to the general flow of events and relationships
