I have had many cats throughout my lifetime beginning with 13 when growing up in the country. All my cats have been special in their own way, but I will only post about some of them.
Part 1
KYAT
(Forgive the bad quality of some photos as they are recovered photos)
Kyat was a Brown Burmese and a real character. His registered name was Makita Kyat, so named because kyat was the currency of Burma. When he was just a kitten he would steal pegs from a peg bucket hanging by the washing machine. One day he got his paw caught in the face plate of the washer and the vet had to amputate one of his toes, poor baby.
I entered him in a cat show once but never again. He fought with the cat in the cage next to him and threw his litter all over the floor. Despite all that he won four 1st prizes beating his champion father, and this was despite his amputated toe.
Kyat was a much loved member of our family, very affectionate and cheeky. He came with us when we moved interstate.
We went away for a holiday and left him to board with a breeder where he had stayed when we first arrived in SA. After only being away a couple of days, we called the breeder on our return, only to find out Kyat was at our vets. We rushed to visit him and he was in a bad way although he did respond to my voice. I can’t remember what the vet told us was wrong with him.
Very sadly, Kyat crossed the Rainbow Bridge overnight and we had lost our dearly beloved beautiful boy. He was only a couple of years old.
R.I.P. Makita Kyat
